Chinese jewelry manufacturers knew there would be a strong demand for replica royal engagement rings. “When they announced their engagement,” stated manufacture Zhou Mingwang, “it was just by chance that I saw their ring on the Internet. I felt that this had a great commemorative value and thought there was a good market for the product.”

While Princess Diana’s original ring is worth approximately $45,000, some of these Chinese replicas are being sold for as little as 45 cents.  These are of course the plastic variety, for a nicer zircon stone and silver plated copper version of the ring; buyers will pay around $8.00.

With the popularity of Diana’s engagement ring replicas, manufacturers are ready to pump out some knock-offs of the royal wedding rings, once the designs have been released.  You can be sure that there will be hoards of fans lining up to import these from China, as well.
